Jon Davis discusses EP and other collabs

The American metal band Korn, last night awarded with a place in the Kerrang! Hall of Fame, are planning to continue and develop their dubstep experiments.

This year, Korn have been working with Los Angeles dubstep producer Skrillex and their next EP, released in June, will include more similar genre-crossing collaborations.

Korn singer Jonathan Davis said: “Mixing electronic dance music with what we do seems to work and we have worked with a lot of other dubstep producers. We have come up with some crazy heavy shit and we are still working on it, but I can’t wait to get it out.”

Davis said that the next Korn album will be an album of songs of similar in style to “Get Up!”, the track made with Skrillex.

One of Davis’ favourite artists at the awards show was the Texas rapper Hyro da Hero, who has been performing with 50 Cent and Cypress Hill and after his appearance at the Download Festival will also support Wu-Tang Clan on their UK tour this month. The Korn singer hinted that a collaboration with Hyro Da Hero could be possible in the future. Hyro Da Hero's debut album was also produced by nu-metal producer, Ross Robinson.
